(I) Extension Services

  • a) N. S. S.
    The national Service Scheme (N.S.S.) is working at senior and junior level under H.R.D. of the Government of India. This activity helps to inculcate various social, moral values and responsibilities. It creates awareness about social, environmental, health problems among students and increases the patriotic sense. Every year special camp and different campaigns are organized in rural area so that students get acquainted with the problems and life of rural community.

  • b) N. C. C.
    Our N.C.C. Boys Unit is affiliated to 19th Mah. Artillery Bat. Karad, with 100 intake capacity and Girls Unit is affiliated to 6th Mah. Girls’ Bat. Kolhapur with 50 intake capacity. Numbers of cadets from both units are selected for several State and National camps. It is our great achievement that several students have been participating in R. D. and I. D. parades at New Delhi every year from this unit as well as N.S.S. unit.

    College organizes remedial coaching for all the students. UGC provides grants for the coaching of SC/ST category students.

  • h) Cell for Prevention of Sexual Harassment
    This cell attempts to solve the problems of girl students.

  • i) Counseling This center organize a special programme namely “From Failure to Success” for S.S.C. and H.S.C. failed students in association with ‘Daily Sakal’ every year after the declaration of the results. Thousands of students and parents have been benefited by this programme to stand in future life.

  • l) Earn and Learn Scheme
    The Father of Maharashtra’s education late Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil introduced this scheme before 100 years. It has helped poor students to earn while learning in the schools and colleges and complete their education on their own. It inculcates work culture among the students.
    We, as the followers of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil, implement this scheme in this college from the beginning for needy and poor students. We allot the works of library, laboratory and administrative office.

  • m) Karmavver Spardha Pariksha Prabodhini (For Competitive Exams)
    The department commences on 20th June every year, the students who have completed their graduation or completing can enroll their names to this center. This center is one of the successful centers, showing good result, in Maharashtra.

  • o) NET / SLET Exam Guidance Center
    Psychology Department has been running NET/SLET couching center from 2009. Other faculty members also guide students in their respective subjects for these exams.

  • p) MHT-CET Guidance Center
    The junior science wing conducts extra lectures and guidance for students to face these exams. This program includes crash course in vacation and regular guidance throughout the year. Many students of our college have been admitted for Medical, Engineering and B. Pharmacy.

  • q) A.N.S.
    These are N. G. O.s in our area and our college, teachers and students are associated with them. These institutions enlighten society towards scientific approach and aim at eradication of superstitions. They organize different social activities in our city, nearby villages and college campus such as anti dowry, anti superstition, sky watching, street play, anti war, anti pollution, anti corruption, anti addiction, tracking, slide show for rational attitude, snake show and social integrity etc. Our students and teachers actively participate in these activities.

(II) Infrastructural Facilities

  • a) Library and Reading Room
    Maharshi Vithal Ramji Shinde Library is the Central Library located in the college. Reference books, text books, periodicals and state, national and international magazines are available with past and present volumes and editions. The details are as below:

  • b) Audio Visual Center
    College has following audio visuals equipments to enrich our teaching quality of several departments. We use these equipments for effective teaching – learning and to organize workshops, seminars and conferences.

  • c) Infotech centre
    The college has info-tech center, where students have the internet facility for two hours according to their allotted days. It has separate 10 computers with trained care taker. Students use this facility for acquiring knowledge about their respective fields, for employment news and for filling different examination forms of university, government and non - government services.

  • d) Gymkhana
    We always stand at top in sports at University, State and National Level. We always get prizes and awards in various games. We have indoor and outdoor game facilities as stated below.
    Our sportsmen have been representing the college at University, Inter University, National and International tournaments in above events from the beginning of college.
    College has well equipped Gymnasium hall.

  • d) Boys Hostel
    We have boys hostel with 27 rooms, which can accommodate 50 students at a time. The priority of hostel facility is given to those students who belong to weaker sections of the society.

  • e) Ladies Hostel
    With the help of UGC girls’ hostel is under construction having accommodation capacity up to 144. The estimate of this project is of Rs. 1 Crore.

  • f) Canteen
    College canteen is run by private caterer on contract basis. Healthy and hygienic dishes are provided at affordable price. Students are very much fond of the canteen service. It is open from 07:30 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. Mess service is also provided.

    Shivaji University has allotted the centres for distance education. It has object to bring those students in education who are unable to attend the regular courses. More than one thousand students are enrolled for B. A., B. Com., M. A. and M. Com. courses at this centre. Every Sunday guidance classes are arranged for these students by college faculty.
